Lorena M. Edwards
Mrs. Lorena M. Edwards, a lifelong Tillamook area resident, died in Tillamook Nov. 11 at the age of 95.
Lorena was born on Jan. 29, 1910, in Tillamook to Jack and Claudia (Edgar) Williams. In 1934, she and Ulysses Edwards were united in marriage in Vancouver, Wash.
Mrs. Edwards was a charter member of the Sandlake Grange, belonged to the Tillamook Pioneer Association, and was said to have been both the oldest and longest-served client of the Tillamook Bookmobile. Lorena loved to read and work in her garden, and for many years was a baby-sitter for the neighborhood children.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband Ulysses, and by nine brothers.
She is survived by two sons, Wesley Edwards and wife Gloria of Cloverdale and Thomas Edwards of Cloverdale; a sister, Glenna Mischler of Eugene; three grandchildren, Leah Magee, Veronica Lynn West and Nicole Edwards; four great-grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Andrew and Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m., at the Coburg Grange Hall. Donations in her name would be gratefully accepted to the Tillamook County Library new building fund, care of Waud's Funeral Home.
