I've just begun my search on ancestry.com and it's pretty amazing what I'm finding. But I have a question - the farther back I go in my family, into the great-grandparent generations before the 1930's/1940's I'm noticing that each time there seems to be anywhere between 5-8 kids for the parents. Was it that common back then to have such large families or am I adding the wrong people to my tree as I go along? All the information matches as far as parent names and birth dates, etc. Thanks!
