This is a really long shot and an attempt at catching lighting in a bottle.
Here is what I know;
I am looking for information on an Edna Hill who was born about 1913 in Willmington, Delaware.
She appears in only the 1940 NYC census....shows her as a "cigarette girl."
I know she died from drowning in the ocean off Far Rockaway Beach in New York.
I believe this happened in late summer...around Labor Day...in 1940.
She had the cigarette and flower and photo concessions at the old Surf Club out on Long Island around the late 30s into 1940.
I recently found out that death certificates for Queens Co. are kept locally and not at the state capital...where I searched years ago and came up empty.
I would love to find a death notice or obit from a local paper regarding her death.
I would love to find a tree with this person it so as to try to locate a living relative who may have a picture. To maybe also find where she is buried.
This a lots of "little facts" but hopefully someone may be able to help me find more,
Thanks in advance for any help!
Jim
