I am searching for information on the Poovey history in Catawba County. I am told there are at least five different strands of Poovey's in Catawba Co. My grandfather Julius Reid always indicated we were part of the original settlers along with the Barringers and Weidners. My grandfather has passed away and our family history has been scattered.
