Seeking info on the family Matheus/Mathews/Matthews/Mattheus from Belleville IL. Emigrated from Germany. My great grandfather was Benjamin. There were several siblings, one of whom, Philip, was hung for murder. Other sibs include (we believe) Dora and Fred. One lived on/near THE HILL area of S. STL.
