I am confused about the houses built by the various GREGG men in the time period of 1683-1740.
2 of the houses are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to the Rock Spring house built possibly in 1694 and the Strand Millas house with its 1701 date stone there was apparently an original log house built by William Gregg (c1642-1687). Then there was a mill built by John Gregg (c1668-1738) ca 1715 and a stone house built directly behind the mill ca 1720.
Do I have it correct that there were 4 houses? A log house that no longer exists; Rock Spring; Strand Millas; and the 1720 structure that does or does not still exist?
Any idea who actually lived in the houses during what years?
Thanks for any help that can be given to me.
