I have a Samuel Utzler Keller on my tree. His parents were Alamanda Utzler (born 1859, Pittsburgh) and John Keller (born 1855, New York state). I have these records:
1900 - Samuel U (or W) Keller, with "John & Almada" born in Sept 1896
1910 - Samuel U, with John & Alamanda, age 13
1917 WWI Draft - Samuel Utzler, born Sept 11 1894, married with 2 kids
1920 - Samuel U, age 25, living with wife, Elsie, and children John & Ivy
1930 - (here's where it gets dicey) Samuel W Keller, age 27, both parents born in PA, living with wife, Elsie, and children Merle, Earl & Samuel D
1930 - AND another record with Samuel U Keller, age 33, dad from NY, mom from PA, living with Myrtle Ivy Kupp (his sister) and her family, along with his kids, John and Ida. He's listed as married, but no wife is recorded
1940 - (and even worse) Samuel W Keller, 37, living with Elsie, Merle, Earl, Samuel D, Alma, Linda & Janice
1940 - (again) I have Elsie Keller, listed as married, but no husband is recorded, living with children Samuel and William, along with daughter Ivy and her husband David
1942 WWII Draft - Samuel U Keller, born Sep 11 1894 in Venango County, PA, with a contact form Mrs Kupp
I also have marriage records:
Samuel U Keller, son of Samuel & Elsie Reuger Keller, to Beatrice Geist
William H Keller, son of Samuel & Elsie Ruger Keller, to Camille Y Yanniello Mazzei
I can't understand any of this. Is the family with Merle & Earl unrelated to my Samuel? I find it very hard to believe that there were two Samuel Kellers married to two Elsies within a couple of miles of one another.
I really need some help here.
