The Arkansas Genealogical Society will be hosting Cyndi Ingle owner and webmaster of Cyndi’s List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet

Ms. Ingle’s website Cyndi’s List has been voted several times the best genealogy site on the Web and receives more than 3.2 million visits each month. Cyndi has been a genealogist for more than 34 years, is a past-member of the board of directors the National Genealogical Society. She has authored three books for genealogical research on the Internet titled, Netting Your Ancestors, Cyndi’s List, and Planting Your Family Tree Online: How to Create Your Own Family History Web Site.
Ms. Ingle’s lectures “The Internet: Lower Your Expectations to Raise Your Research Potential”, “Pin Your Ancestors Down with Google Maps and Google Earth”, “The Hidden Web: Digging Deeper”, and “Evernote for Every Genealogist” will all be presented on Saturday. The evening before, on Friday, September 19 Arkansas’ own genealogist and historian as well as an Arkansas Genealogical Society board member, Russell P. Baker will present two lectures “A Return to Basics: A 21st Century Look at Traditional Genealogical Research” and “Breaking Through Your Research Brick Walls: Strategies for Successful Ancestor Hunting”.
The exhibit hall will open at 5pm on Friday. Talk with members of genealogy societies statewide and purchase research materials for your own library.
The Arkansas Genealogical Society’s mission is to publicly promote education in family history techniques. AGS is proud to annually present a nationally known speaker for a weekend.
