I'm looking for my birth parents to thank them for caring enough to have me and curiosity about siblings, relatives and health histories.
I was born in Long Beach in Apr. 1964.
My name listed at the time of adoption was William Andrew Cleave (presumably my birth father's last name)
I have a great deal of clues from a post adoption inquiry response from the Adoption agency, a couple of which are below.
Birth Mother (BM):
• 18 years old
• born in Kansas
Birth Father (BF):
• 25 years old
• born in CA
Doing the math, my birth father should have been born in 1939 and my birth mother in 1946.
I found a single matching birth certificate for Charles Herbert Cleave born May 1938 in Tulare, CA. Is there a better way to confirm and if not how do I find Charles contact information?
He was Diagnosed with leukemia in Sept. 1963 so I'm not sure he is still living but I also have not found a death certificate for him.
What the best way to find my birth mother as I don't have her last name and they had no plans of getting married when I was put up for adoption?
Any help would be much appreciated as I have never done anything like this before.
Thanks in advance!
