Please help sort out these Frances (d. abt 1790) in Virginia: John m. Eliz. Bland, son Thomas. Thomas m. Susannah Hessin, son or daughter Frances. The daughter Rachel m. Gabriel Mullins and moved to KY.

Some trees list Rachel's parents as both named Frances Ballard, one: b.1737. The other: b. 1745. Some trees have one and not the other. One tree even suggested a spouse Waddy Slaughter, (which doesn't help with gender either!)

So was this Frances male or female and who did he/she marry to beget Rachel? Any clues where to look?
