Hello, I am not a Chaffee and have no family that is but I grew up on Lake Chaffee, Ashford, CT. Behind the volunteer firehouse on the lake there is an old Cemetery and most of the stones were from Chaffees. Unfortunately vandals have deposed of most of the stones which ran from the late 1600's to early 1700's. The cemetery is small - no bigger than most peoples backyards.
