Looking for information on the family of John and Barbara Jackel. Both were born about 1796-1800. The family is from Prussia; village or town is unknown. They emmigrated in 1847 with their children Francis, Stephen, John, Nicholas, Peter, Leonard, Frederick, Margret and Lydia, and came to NY, and settled in Albany, NY. I would like to find the siblings and parents of John Jackel. The family surname changed numerous times after arrival in America, and finally settled on the Yakel spelling in the 1870's.
The Naturalization and Declaration of Intent records of John Jackel list Prussia as the country of origin, and relinquish alleginace to the King of Prussia. Any help would be appreciated.
