Ok, I've seen the old posts and I'm sure everyone's sick of this topic, but something about Kate's story just fascinates me...Maybe it's the fact that her life and death seem to be such a great mystery...Anyway. Since my trip to the Hotel del Coronado I've become a bit obessed with the whole topic. I bought a book in the hotel gift shop titled "Beautiful Stranger" that was put out by the hotel's Heritage Department. It was filled with a lot of information about Kate's death and newpaper articles, but not many answers. I also read the book by Alan May, the title escapes me...I found that his book was nothing more than a poorly written peice of fiction (In my opnion) I'm looking for any factual information that anyone might have on Kate...also I'm wondering if anyone has any information about the step son of a Joseph W Anderson of Riverton? I wonder if anyone ever examined if there was a link between his step son Frank and Kate. Kate was registered as Lottie Anderson Bernard at the Del. In her belongings they found a tin box with the name "Louisa Anderson" inscribed. They also found a peice of paper in Kate's room with the name Frank written four times. The step-son of Joseph Anderson also had a sister named Louise. It seems odd to me that Kate was claiming to be meeting her brother, Dr Anderson. And she was registered as Lottie Anderson Bernard and had belongings with Louise Anderson's name on it. I'm wondering if Kate was possibly having an affair with this Frank and posing as his sister to avoid suspicion? I can't find any information on Frank or Louise in the 1880 census, although I did find their mother and step father. I believe their mother's original married name was Spratten. I found all this information in a biography of the "History of Freemont County Iowa 1881" Any information available would be greatly appreciated. The search for answers continues! Thanks!
