Hello! Our postman here in Switzerland has been researching Swiss victims in Nazi concentration camps for the past 30 years. He asked us to help confirm the background of a certain John Arnold, recorded as born in Sheffield but of Swiss nationality, who died in Neungamme in 1945. We have found this John and his parents and have their marriage certificate (London 1919). But there is no nationality on it. The father is Jean François Arnold, born 1877, the mother Gabrielle Ardiet, born 1887. Now I have found a Jean Arnold on the Swiss Overseas Emigration 1910-1953 file on Ancestry. But I don't need an international subscribtion for my own family tree and don't want to invest in one just for this. I would appreciate it if someone who has one could look this up and check out the rest of the information: Jean Arnold, Birth Year?, Place of origin, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Departure date ?, Port of Departure? Images?. If this turned out to be our John Arnold's father, it would bring an positive end to Mr. Favre's 30-year search for proof of John's Swiss nationality. Thanks a million!
