My results are a surprise to me
Apparently AncestryDNA says I am:
Great Britain 38%.
Ireland 30%.
Europe West 14%.
Trace Regions 18%:
Italy/Greece 6%, Iberian Peninsula 4%, Scandinavia 3%, European Jewish 3%.
According to my family we should be like 75% German, and 25 Percent Irish. However there results contradict that which is a shocker to me.
We also were supposed to have some native American however we have zero, zero pacific islander, and zero Asian. I am 100 % European.
I do not understand the trace regions under Western European. I guess that 14% could include my German ancestry and there is some Nordic ancestry I know off. Apparently we have some duke and ditches and earls in the family tree.
I knew we had a little Jewish but I heard that the trace regions of Iberian and European Jewish can combine or be indicative of Sephardic Jewish. I'm going to load my file to Gedmatch to dig into the chromosomal level a little more and try to find out what this all means. Its pretty simplistic what they post. I'm looking for more info one what the trace regions mean.
I have ancestry that went back to the Mayflower which is cool.
