I am doing our ARNDT (ARENDT) Family History.
If you are able to assist I have a couple of queries which I have been unable to answer here to date - both relating to the ARNDT (ARENDT ) Family. They are -
1. Anna Elizabeth ARNDT married John Friedrich Wilhelm RICHTERS who according to family here was born in Hamburg, Germany on 24 January,1864. His parents were Heinrich Friedrich Carl RICHTERS and his mother was - Mathilde Johanne Sophia WOLTERS . He arrived in Australia around 1860 - 62 , was a seaman , is said to have jumped ship and changed his name to avoid detection. I can't find any record of this desertion or his arrival in Australia. Records here show he died on 6th Feb 1926 aged 58 years making his year of birth as 1867/68.
Records from Germany - St. Michaelis Church in Hamburg - show that a son of the above parents - John Heinrich Wilhelm RICHTERS born 16th March 1867 - may be identical with John Friedrich Wilhelm RICHTERS. I have no knowledge of any other children in the family of Heinrich & Mathilde Richters .
What I would be looking for are the other children of this marriage and which son of this family did not marry and did not die in Germany please.
2. Johann Carl ARNDT another of the original ARNDT children married Annie MISELINSKI born 1867 in STUM or STUMM , Germany to Jacob MISELINSKI and Mary Ann Berry. She is said to have left Germany after her father re-married and was about 18 years of age on arrival here. There is a suggestion in her family that she may have been a Countess is Germany. I don't know if this is true or otherwise.
I cannot find any record of her arrival in Australia. I have found an Ann MISCHLEWESKI ,
18 years who arrived on the "Chybessa " as a Free Nominated in 1884. I don't know if this is the same person as Annie Miselinski.
Basically could you find anything re Annie Miselinski over there including whether she
was or was not a Countess and if so was there a family Crest or Shield or whatever involved.
Hoping you may be able to assist in some way re these queries
I am,
Yours sincerely,
Cliff Arndt.
