I am looking for any information about my gggrandparents who were from Sprenz, now Hohen-Sprenz, Gustrow Co., Mecklenburg, Vorpommern. They are Friederick (also went by Ferdinand) Schmidt, born September 8, 1832; and his wife Maria F. S. Prang(e), born May 10, 1841. (I believe Maria's mother's maiden name was Tessmon, though that may be mistaken.) They married around 1860?, and left for America in October of 1866, settling in Dodge Co., WI. Two children, Henry John (age 4) and John H. (age 1) came with them. They were Lutherans and farmers. I am looking for record of ancestors of either of them, any siblings or other family, or any biographical tidbits from this town. Ich kann nur ein bischen Deutsch sprechen.
