Classification: Query
Desperately seeking BARNESes who were in Mecklenberg/Union/Anson Counties 1790 on. Rumor has it that there was a connection to a gold mine by William Barnes (b. before 1789- died 1855 Ashley Co.,AR), who married Nancy Mullis Griffin (widow of John BREWER). They had children Thomas(b. abt 1803), William (b. abt 1805), Solomon (b. 6/7/1809) (this is our line), Sally (married Ransom BAUCOM) and others. Was William (the old one) run out of town in the middle of the night? BARNESes migrated to Georgia ("when the stars fell" - what and when was this?), Arkansas, to Texas - landing in Williamson County, Texas. We're still here (Texas, that is) and we're looking for you! We're looking for more information on the 1790ish William Barnes and his forebearers.
