Marcus owned a brandy brewery in Flensburg and had a son, Emandus Marcus PETERSEN with wife Catharine. They were supposedly a well-to-do family before they left for America (only Catherine and Emandus went to America, Marcus died before that on 29 Mar. 1867 in Flensburg).
