Hello......My interest lies in the Canter family of S. Maryland.
According to transport records ..they llanded at Lancaster County, Va. and migrated north into Maryland eventually settling where the town of Benedict lies today. That was between 1670 and 1733.
They lived in Benedict and Calverton Manor before spreading into many of the surrounding communities.
My line moved around 1740-50 into N. Va and gradually moved thru the Shenandoah Valley to lands west and southsuch as Ky, Tenn, NC, Va, Ga, Ohio, etc.
We would be grateful for any type of info on this family and connected families.
