Robert B. MILES, 67
Former Petoskey resident Robert B. MILES, 67, of Arcadia, died Nov. 19, 1988, at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Petoskey. The Rev. Hugolinius Kiemer, OFM, will officiate and burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Petoskey.
Mr. MILES was born June 16, 1921, in Charlevoix, the son of Walker and Eva WILLIAMS MILES. He attended school in Petoskey and graduated from Petoskey High School in 1940. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1942 and served as a pilot during World War II until 1946.
After the service, he attended beauty school in Oshkosh, Wis. and then owned and operated his own beaty salon in Sturgis, Mich., for several years.
Mr. MILES then worked as a salesman for Wires Beauty Supply Co. and most recently had owned and operated his own party store in Elberta, Mich. He retired in 1986.
He married the former Marjorie DENNISON in 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, and she preceded him in death in 1976. He then married the former Dorothy BEHAN in Elk Pointe, S.D., on March 14, 1977.
Mr. MILES was a member of the American Legion Post in Frankfort.
He is survived by: his wife; one son, Bruce MILES of Bellaire; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Csaba, (Kay) LENGYEL of Wyoming, Mich., Mrs. Russell (Mary) CORMANY II of Fountain, Mich., and Cindy HILL of Petoskey; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Eva SHEA of Petoskey; one brother, Bill MILES of Petoskey; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Stone Funeral Home, Petoskey from 7-9 p.m. today. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
