I have now had a few of my Ancestry matches show up on Gedmatch and have a couple of interesting developments.
I have about half a dozen matched of 7 cM or more on Gedmatch that are not on my Ancestry list.
On the other hand I have several matches from my Ancestry list that would not meet the gedmatch criteria of 7cM/700 SNPs; they all have largest segments in the 4-6 cM range.
I presume this is because Ancestry is doing its matching based on mega base pairs, which they are phasing somehow and would appreciate it if some of the experts could comment on this, and the implications for interpreting those low cM matches.
