Hello all Olivers. I have a document which may interest you.
It is an Oliver Family History as recorded by Pinckney Oliver
in 1911 in North Carolina. Very detailed and was updated by Mary Oliver Gordon in 1958. Contact me and I will forward to you a copy of the
info. It is 8 pages long. It starts with George and Martha Oliver of Rockingham, Co, NC.

This is how the info starts: George Oliver was born in 1760, Prince Edward Co., Va. a Revolutionary soldier, and died in 1844, Lincoln Co., NC.

He raised a large family of sons and possibly some daughters, some of whom moved to and settled in So. Carolina. One or more of the sons settled in western N.C., perhaps on the Catawaba River, or at least was the information my father had.

The remaining four sons, James, Peter, Jesse and Abraham, (the last named being my grandfather) married and settled in Rockingham County, N.C. I do not remember seeing but one of the four, and that was Jesse.

Let me know if you wish a copy of this history.

Sincerely,

James A. Oliver
Michigan
