I also have a ledger that begins in 1844 and ends in 1849 that has the accounting of what appears to be a Guardianship for some Taylor children. The surnames appear to be TAYLOR and VAUSE,I think this is the accounting that my gggreat-grandfather had to do when his second wife passed on, or with grandchildren. Am trying to decipher the pages so I can translate it. Anyone interested let me know. Extremely interesting. This is a full accounting of money spent and earned.
