I'm searching for William Moutrey's family.

He was b. abt 1805 in Ky and died in about 1849-50 in CA. In 1825 he married Mary Fitzhugh in Logan Co., KY. She was the daughter of Peter Fitzhugh and Nancy Dawson of Russellville, Logan Co., KY.

The 1820 Russellville, Logan Co., KY census lists a George Moudry and family on the same page as Peter Fitzhugh and he has a son the right age to have been William. George is not in Russellville in 1810 or 1830.

The 1810 Hopkinsville, Christian Co., KY lists George Muter (b. between 1766-1784)in the same age group as George Moudry. Next door is William Muter (b. between 1766-1784) and nearby is James Muter (b. before 1775) and his wife. A descendent of William Moutray supplied the information that he died in 1818 in Christian Co., KY so William Muter is most likely William Moutray. William Moutrays widow and some of his children went to Jackson Co., MO. My ancestor, William Moutrey also moved to Jackson Co., MO in the early 1830's.
James Muder/Moutray may have been one of the Moutray/Moutrey's of VA/NC/SC who went to KY and then moved on to Robb, Posey Co., Indiana. Information from a Posey Co. Message Board said that one of the Moutrays had lived in Christian Co., KY and the later censuses show that a few of them were born in KY.
The 1850 Posey Co., In Census shows a George Moutray, 68 (1782), VA, living with Allen Moutray, 60 (1790) and his family. Is this the George Moudry listed in the Russellville, Logan Co., KY census?
It seems possible that James Moutray (Muder) moved to Logan Co. KY before 1810 with sons William and George. William died in 1818 in Christian Co. (which had been a part of Logan Co.) and George went on to IN after 1820. George's son William Madrey/Moutrey married Mary Fitzhugh and moved to MO.
I hope that somebody can help me find where William Moutrey fits with the Moutray family.
