I have written a family history, FOOTPRINTS WEST, that includes Valentine Mayo and his descendants. The book also corrects a widely circulated story about Valentine Mayo being a son of James Mayo and Mary Valentine. James Mayo was supposed to be the son of William Mayo and Isabel Hardy. That connection is entirely false. Willaim Isabel's son, James, was the same age as Valentine.

The book traces the Mayo family from VA through SC to GA and on to Texas. Mayo is a common name. There are stories about the families and relationships. The book also includes the Masters, Meeker Wheeler families - my maternal ancestry. The book is indexed, hard back, acid free paper. $65 incl. postage if you're interested.
