The information I'm looking for concerns a Justin McCarty born 1757. Below is an excerpt from "Pioneer History of Washington Co. KY"
Recorded in the "Pioneer History of Washington County, Kentucky", edited and indexed by Michael L. Cook & Bettie Ann Cook, published by McDowell Publications, Utica, KY, published 1980; "To our previously published lists of soldiers of the American Revolution who lived in Washington County the following should be added: Justin McCarty, born 1757; enlisted for one year and nine months in 1776 in the State of Pennsylvania and continued in the service until 1781; discharged at Falls Point, Baltimore; in Battle of Long
Island and Brandywine. "Keeps a little A.B.C. School" in Washington County in 1820; has wife and 9 children, 3 of whom are married."
This is all I know of his Rev. War career. I'm assuming he is from PA because that is where he enlisted. I would like to have verification that he was indeed in the war. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
