Hello: I recently purchased a set of photographs from the 1860's to 1880's from Wisconsin and Connecticut, and among them is a photo of a woman who is identified in pencil as "Grandma Blakeslee, Captain David's wife". The photo was taken by Cowell's at 303 Chapel Street, New Haven CT. I would like to be able to return this picture to its family, but I have been unable to find a Captain David Blakeslee in New Haven or in Connecticut in general. I would guess that this picture is old for a CDV, and was probably taken in the 1860's. Mrs. Blakeslee is quite old in the picture. If you know of a Captain David Blakeslee, please let me know.
