Am interested in hearing from anyone that might be able to shed some light on my ggggrandmother, Sarah Elizabeth HOWARD (b. ?, d. 1834, Surry County, NC). She was married to Jonathan WHITAKER II and there is some question as to whether she was Cherokee or not. Her daughter, Lydia WHITAKER, married Abraham WHITAKER, who was also Lydia's first cousin. One of Lydia's and Abraham's children was Frances S. WHITAKER and she married a John STOLTZ and they moved to Missouri. From a picture I received from someone in the STOLTZ lines, there are questions about whether Frances or one of her parents, were descended from Cherokees.
