The Rainey reunion on Oct. 16, 2005 to be held at the Palmer Springs Community Center in Mecklenburg County,Virginia will be a joint family reunion of the Francis Rainey and Peter Rainey lineages of Southside Virginia. The reunion is from noon until 3 PM. DNA testing show that somewhere there is a common ancestor of these two lineages. Francis Rainey born ca 1725,died 1804 in Brunswick Co.,VA after living large part of his life in Mecklenburg County. Two wives, Ann/Nannie and Judith Lambert. Peter Rainey born about 1769,died 1858, wife Margery McKay, father may have been Buckner Rainey, mostly known as Dinwiddie and Lunenburg County resident with descendants in Mecklenburg County.
Location of Palmer Springs Community Center is on Palmer Point Rd which is opposite the Bethesda Baptist Church which is located on Buggs Island Lake Rd(VA-4),which is south of Boydton and southwest of South Hill near North Carolina border.
