So now that most people’s (but not mine!) gedmatch files have been processed and we can do one-to-many and one-to-one comparisons, I want to understand this whole triangulation thing. It’s been talked about since before we got our raw data as one of the main reasons for getting raw data. I have read Shari’s cartoon, but I’d like a little more details. One reason is since the gedmatch triangulation server is down, I was wondering if it’s the type of thing you can whip up some software to handle provided you have the 3 people’s data, or does it require the server in order to search all the participant’s data?
So, if you can explain it without getting too detailed or too basic, have at it!
