I am trying to track down a relative's biological father, who, in 1930, owned a place in New Salem. He says that it had a gas station and perhaps a restaurant/ice cream parlor attached to it and that there may have been 7 or so rooms that were rented out above the restaurant. This man moved, with his family, to Minnesota in about 1935, but told my relative before moving that he was his dad and that he could come with them if he wanted to. At that time, this man had two girls and a boy. Can anyone help with which place this might have been? I know it's a shot in the dark, but we would REALLY appreciate any help.
