I am searching for the parents of my ggggrandparents..John and Matilda Preston Willcox. The first informatiion I have of them was when their son Abner P was born near Albion, New york in 1805 and their son William Caleb was born near Lockport, New york 1807. I have searched New York Census and I am sure the John Willcox in Ogden, Monroe co in the 1820 and 1830 census' is the correct one. The 1840 census from Jackson co, Mich lists William with his family and with two older persons probably John and Matilda. The history of Lenawee co says he came there with his son Abner (who spent some time in Washtenaw co before moving to Lenawee co) and lived there until he passed away but can not find him on any census or any other records. Abner is buried in Seneca Township Lenawee co with his second wife and son Warren. William and his wife Mary Ann Southard (my gggrandparents)are buried in Brookfield township, Eaton co. My g grandfather William Riley was in the civil war and joined up in Walton Michigan. After the war he married Jeanette Hunt and eventually moved to York co NE and then on to Oregon.
