Not sure if I am in the right forum, but here goes.
I'm adopted. Started my tree trying to include ALL family members original and adopted, which I did. I found I had to choose so I chose my original recently found family as preferred and my adopted family as alternate.

I started a new tree for my adopted family to give for christmas, since it's difficult to find the alternate family, and awkward for them!

My questions:
-Should I get hints from another one of MY trees?

-Does it have to be a "preferred" setting for the hints to show up?

In my new tree (adopted family) should the hints come up if my adopted family is set as Alternate in my other (original) tree?

-Is there a way to transfer everyone in one fail swoop to my new adopted family tree without having to do each person and add all the citations and pictures again?
