I'm searching for any information on the Alting family from Holland. Especially the ship they traveled on and the port of departure. Meno (or Menno) Alting (1839-1908) and his wife Helen White (Jun 11, 1837-1906), her Dutch name was Hielje De Wit Alting, arrived in Muskegon Co., MI in 1865. They traveled with their oldest son, Garrett (or Geerrat) Alting, later went by the name of "George" (born Mar 28, 1864). Twin daughters, Grace and Alice Ella (Dutch name was Aaltje) Alting were born on Jan 9, 1866 while crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Grace died before they reached America.
