Amanda Delatour Thurston is my great-great-grandmother.
She appeared on 1860 fed. NYC census for 17th ward, 4th district, living with her brother Albert Delatour & his family. Form didn't show if she was widowed or divorced. Her 14 yr. old son, Alexander Delatour Thurston, was at that time a resident student at the N.Y. Institution for the Deaf & Dumb in NYC. , (that is the proper name of the institution at that time) from which he graduated in 1864.

Alexander (my great-grandfather) was her 14 yr. old son from first marriage when she married Moses C. Amerman in Somerset County NJ in Dec. 1860.

She and this son, Alexander Delatour THURSTON, then age 24, appear with Moses on 1870 federal census for North Hempstead, Queens Co., NY, roll 1081, page 323.
After this, she "disappears". Can't find her on any more records, census or otherwise.

Trying to learn if she died in Queens Co. or N.Y. County, and if so when and where is she buried?

Am traveling to this area in May to do research. Do you have a connection to this line? If so, or can help, please contact me.
