I am looking for a lead. I have very little information on my great-great grandma Lillie (sp?) on my mother's side. I know that her daughter Hazel was orphaned at about age five and I think it was because Lillie died. Hazel grew up in Montcalm County, Michigan, so I think Lillie died in that vicinity. Hazel was sent to live with local relatives and given their last name, "Moore." No one in the family ever wanted to talk about this, and they have all passed away. My grandma Wava (Hazel's daughter) had an olive complexion, apparently to the dismay of her mother, so I'm wondering about the heritage in those terms, as well. The few things my grandmother said about it were that she thought Lillie's last name was Mount or maybe Taylor, but she was quite sure that her first name had been Lillie, and that Hazel didn't like to talk about it at all. It just seems sad and strange for her not to have known her own grandma's name for sure. To my knowledge, Hazel was Lillie's only child, but I'm curious. So, if anyone has information, I would be delighted and grateful.
