My gg.grandfather Edward Bell, was transported in 1838 and was granted his Ticket of Leave 1845 and "allowed to remain in the Maitland area". I have not been able to find where he spent the years 1938-1845 and to whom he was assigned. Has anyone any suggestions? Who were the landowners at that time that would have had convicts? Any help would be appreciated
