I know his father was John Russell, who died in Fairview, Fulton Co., IL but would like to confirm his mother's name. His father m Sept 18, 1838 in NY, Harriet(t) A. Douglas(s); this taken from her obit in 1909. As Hiram was born in 1832 and Harriett was born in 1820, I doubt seriously that she was his mother; there is 12 years difference in their ages.

Would appreciate any ideas about where I could locate his obit that might give his biological mother or where I could find that info in Iowa. Thank you for any nudges in the right direction.
