Hi, I am trying to find the maiden name of my 4xgreatgrandmother Jane Mcmaster. She died 14 April 1867, born 1787 and is buried at Grandview Cemetery Chillicothe, plot sec3. This information was from findagrave,com.
In 1841 she is living in Eldrig, Wigtownshire , Scotland with some of her children.Her husband Peter Mcmaster died in 1838. Up to now I have been unable to find their marriage and hence the maiden name of Jane.
Jane emigrated to Ohio with some of her children in 1848 and lived in Chillicothe. I have found her on the 1850 and 1860 census.
Two of her daughters married . Jane married William Davidson in 1868 and Ellen married Alexander McDowell in 1848.
As yet I have not been able to find any documents which may give me the maiden name of Jane Mcmaster. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction please? I am based in the UK.
