I am a decendant of Thomas Scane and have their Canadian history. I am looking for information on Thomas Scane before he immigrated to Canada in or around 1820. His wife could have been Mary or Jane, Children are Ellen, Jane-married to Ebezer Colby, Betsey married Issac Hartwick, Thomas, married Charlotte Reeder and John(surveyor in Canada) married Eliz. Mitton.Some info I have is that they were in the whaling business and owned several ships in Yorhshire and a well to-do prominent, well respected family of the area. I am looking for Thomas' parents names, if he had any siblings etc, along with the proper name of his wife, birth dates, marriage dates etc. The Scanes came to Canada with 150 pounds of bibles to be missionarys. They were Westlyn methodists. Also understand that there could be various name spellings. Any help would be appreciated.
