I thought I would post this here to get some feedback.
About 2 years ago I found my biological mother. I did it through research and the help of a professional researcher. However, she told the researcher that she wanted nothing to do with me.
I was advised to write a letter after some time had passed, so I did so, explaining that I didn't want anything from her, but wanted her to know that I appreciated the sacrifice she made in carrying me to term and making sure that I was placed in a good adoption facility. I asked if she would be willing to share some information about my (unknown) biological father. I received no response to my letter.
About a year later I wrote a follow up letter, letting her know that I just wanted to know something about my ancestry on that side of the family and that I didn't desire any contact beyond that. Again ... no response.
I did the DNA testing on Ancestry, which told me nothing beyond a fourth or fifth degree of separation, and even that didn't give me any solid leads.
Any ideas beyond what I have done? I don't want to bother the lady, but I really have a need to know what my paternal side shows me.
Advice or input would be appreciated.
