Abner Ledford lived in Cripple Creek, Teller Co., Co. Born circa 1840's in Union Co., GA according to his obit on file at usgenweb archives. He died 1898 in Cripple Creek. In his obit it is stated that he was brother to William Ledford of Butte Montana. That Abner had worked there in the mines taking credit for inventing the precipitation process of copper mining. (William Ledford and brother, James, were also given credit for inventing the process but none of them did. It was invented in Germany and brought into the states to be used at the copper mines in east Polk Co., TN.) We have a lot of info on James and William but would like to learn more about Abner.
