I hope someone can shed some light on this. I have traced my GG Grandfather to Fayette County where he was born. On a recent trip to Fayette, I discovered that George traveled to Aberdeen Ohio to marry Mary Nichols. My question is why would they travel that far to get married. I have one theory, he was approx.30 years old while Mary was 18. The marriage was Sept. 16, 1851. Any help would be appreciated!
