The following obituary was published in the Farmington Times newspaper of Farmington, St. Francois County, Missouri.

DR. W. A. SWEARENGEN.

Dr. W. A. Swearengen of Dawson Springs, Ky., passed away at that place Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. The remains were brought to Flat River Wednesday night and the funeral was conducted there yesterday afternoon. Interment was made in Parkview Cemetery.

Deceased is a son of T. V. Swearengen of Flat River, a notice of whose death appears elsewhere in this paper. The father died Saturday and was buried Monday at Parkview cemetery while the son followed him in death on Tuesday.

The Times extends its sincerest sympathy to the heart-broken family in their double bereavement.

Additional Information: The listing for Parkview Cemetery in the Cemeteries of St. Francois County, Missouri book has last name spelled Swearingen. Listing indicates that Dr. W. A. Swearingen was born Nov. 26, 1871 and died May 4, 1920 and was married to Georgia A. (Edwards) Dec. 25, 1895, and was son of Thomas Van & Pavina (Walston). His wife, Georgia A. (Edwards) Swearingen, who is also listed as being buried there, was born 1867 and died 1951. Thomas Van Swearingen is listed as being born Jun 5, 1841, and having died May 1, 1920. His wife's name is listed as Mary (Turley), daught. of Aaron P. & Frances M. Turley. Mary was born July 9, 1850 and died Apr. 11, 1922.
