Hello,
I am looking for information on my great great grandfather and his family.
The only information I have so far is that he
was said to be a very prominant leader of the
Bogue Chitto tribe of Choctaw Indians and refused
relocation to Oklahoma during the trail of tears era. One of his children was my great grandmother
Mary Polly Sophia Hamilton born in 1805, in Tennessee. She married Andrew Jackson Coghlan, and had 4 children, Thomas Jasper, Benjamin Franklin, Francis Marion and Elizabeth Ellenuer
Coghlan. They worked their farm and raised their family in the wulderness on the Bogue Chitto river in Ms. Mary Polly Sophia Hamilton died July
14 1884 and was buried in Lincol County Miss
at Wm McDavid Cemetary in Lincoln/Pike County Ms.
Any information on Hance Doc Hamilton or (James Hance)and Mary Polly Sophia Hamilton would be greatly appreciated.
