The 1850 Jackson Co., TX, census shows the family of William Pierpont. He was 53, born in Connecticut; his wife Elizabeth E. (Parrott), 43, was born in Pennsylvania. They were married in 1845 (by John McCullough, Presbyterian) so the two older children listed, W. J. D. and Agnes A. M., were from his prior marriage to Sophronia Frisbie. (John, the youngest was b. in Tx, as was Agnes---W. J. D.'s birthplace and date were left blank). The 1860 census index shows that Agnes (who'd then have been 23 yrs old) was in Victoria County. Will someone please provide me with the info. from the census entry? William, accord. to the Handbook of Texas (aka The Handbook of Texas Online), died in 1866 in Wharton Co., TX. Are there any Pierponts buried in Victoria County? (Perhaps William was not residing in Wharton Co. but died while visiting or on business.) What became of the children? Are there descendants in Victoria County? Any assistance w. this matter will be very much appreciated.
