Hello,

I am trying to find info on my gr-gr-great grandfather Cpt. James P. Smith born about 1821 in Dumfrieshire, Scotland. I found him listed in the 1880 Cook County Census...but I lose him after that date. In the 1900 census my gr-gr-great grandmother is listed as a widow.....So James P. Smith must had died between 1880-1900 around Chicago area. I know he was a sailor and and a ship builder. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Any ideas or suggestion are welcomed!!
