My McConnells left County Down and settled near Reids Mills, Ontario. I've found them in Mountain and Matilda Townships of Dundas County, and Osgood Township (Carleton or Russell County, depending on year.) By 1901, some were living near Ottawa, and others in North Dakota, near Sarles/Hannah. The men tended to be named Alexander, William, Robert, George (later John A, Garfield (!), and several Howards). A number of the women were named Charlotte, Jane, and/or Eliza. They married into the following families: (Abraham) Guy, (Duncan) Clarke, Carlyle (several times), Hoy (several times), Jannack, Madden, Meldrum, Skuce, and more, mostly from the Reids Mills area.
