Samuel Barnett born about 1825-1827 in Stoke St Gregory, Somerset if the census records are correct. Married Mary Ann Sanford of Stoke St Gregory on 16 may 1861 I have found the banns in Stoke St Gregory parish records. I cannot find him in any census earlier than 1871. In 1871 he is married with Samuel (baptised 9/12/1866 buried 12/3/1876) 4; James (baptised 2/10/1870); Elizabeth (baptised 7/11/1861) and Ann (baptised 17/1/1864. In the parish records the surname is recorded as Barnard for the baptisms but Barnett for the burial. In 1881 he is still at Stoke but there is no mention of Elizabeth. James is still at home now aged 10 and two more children appear Emma 7 and Samuel 2. I cannot find baptism records for these. This Samuel is my Great Grandfather Samuel Alfred Barnett. In 1891 the family is still at Stoke. Samuel Barnett must have died before 1901 as Mary Ann appears in the 1901 census as a widow but I cannot find a death record for Samuel.

Any help as to his parents and date of death or anything else would be appreciated.
